This elegant Art Nouveau teapot comes from the traditional Berndorf metalware factory in Lower Austria. Crafted from Alpaca silver (also known as nickel silver), it impresses with its harmonious shape, floral engravings, and the Art Nouveau character typical of the period.
The jug bears the original mark “J. Fischer & Söhne Wien” and is an authentic piece of Austrian craftsmanship from around 1900.
Alpacca silver was a popular, silver-like alloy of copper, nickel, and zinc at the time, used for high-quality household and decorative items. The condition is very good for its age: the jug has a beautiful patina that underlines its historic charm. It is dense and can be used again after a gentle cleaning, but it also makes an excellent decorative collector's item.
