A very well preserved old, small decorative vase from the famous Ilmenau porcelain factory in Germany.
Graf von Henneberg Porzellan was a manufacturer of household porcelain, founded in 1777 in Ilmenau, Thuringia. The name was borrowed from the Counts of Henneberg, to whose county Henneberg Ilmenau had belonged in the Middle Ages. At the time of the founding, the noble house had already been extinct for 150 years.
On July 8, 1777, Christian Zacharias Gräbner, who came from Großbreitenbach and was already an expert in porcelain, obtained a concession from his young sovereign, Duke Carl August of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach (1757–1828), to set up a manufactory for porcelain goods in Ilmenau, thus founding the oldest such factory in Ilmenau.
The porcelain factory subsequently changed hands several times. In 1980, over 3,000 employees worked at the "Neue Porzellanwerk Ilmenau".
After the so-called "Wende" and the reunification of Germany, the porcelain factory was privatized and most of the employees were laid off. In 2002, the venerable porcelain factory had to cease production forever.
Our Ilmenau vase is a particularly beautiful vase. Its color resembles cobalt blue and is decorated in the middle with a flower on a white background. The picture is framed with golden ornaments.
This vase is a very beautiful collector's item. And it gives your home a special shine from days gone by. It deserves a place of honor in your home.
The vase is in very good condition, no chips or cracks. In some places the gold paint has worn off a bit due to age. But you only notice this if you look closely.
The vase was produced between 1949 and 1973. Since we cannot say exactly in which year the vase was produced, we took the middle of the period as the production time. So 1961.
